Grant Jackson,baritone, is an active performer of opera, oratorio, art song, and early music.Hailed for his "revelatory" singing voice, Mr. Jackson strivesto bring an unparalleled level of sensitivity and artistry to everyperformance. Mr. Jackson holds a Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Performancefrom the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music, and a Master'sDegree in Vocal Performance from Rice University's Shepherd School ofMusic.
Highlights from previous seasonsinclude Agrippina and Don Giovanni with the Shepherd School ofMusic, La Bohème and the world premiere of The Ripvan Winkles with The Glimmerglass Festival, as well as appearances withBach Society Houston, Collegium Cincinnati, Harmonia Stellarum Houston, theVocalArts Ensemble, Queen City Opera, Jazz Houston, and the Colorado BachEnsemble, among others.
Mr. Jackson is currentlyemployed by Opera Idaho as an Emerging Artist, having sung the roles of Antonio(Le Nozze di Figaro), Homecoming Solider/Doctor #3 (The Falling AndThe Rising) and covering the role of Count Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro).Following the Bach Institute, Grant returns to Boise to perform the role ofCapulet (Roméo et Juliette), and cover the rolesof Mercutio (Roméo etJuliette) and Mark (Cruzar la Cara de la Luna).
