Emily Scicchitano is a violinist from Syracuse, New York who is committed to thoughtful and passionate music-making. She is currently based in Boston, Massachusetts where she is working on her Master’s Degree in Violin Performance at Boston Conservatory, studying with Markus Placci. Before that, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from Ithaca College under the mentorship of Calvin Wiersma.
Emily’s dedicated and sensitive approach to violin has led her to play with ensembles across the country. Before moving to Boston, she served as the concertmaster of the Buffalo Community Orchestra in Buffalo, MN for two years, and also as a season-long substitute of the Sioux City Symphony in Sioux City, Iowa. Emily has performed in many masterclasses for world-renowned performers and teachers such as Stefan Jackiw, Benjamin Baker, The Israeli Chamber Project, Cuarteto Latinoamericano, and more.
She has performed throughout Europe and the United States as a chamber and orchestral musician, performing at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Kodak Hall. In addition to performing, Emily is also passionate about sharing her love of music with others through teaching, so she has been teaching private violin and viola lessons for seven years.
