Equally at home on steel and gut strings and with new and old music, violist/violinist Anna Griffis is an active performer, teacher, and arts administrator. She's principal viola with the New Bedford Symphony and Boston Festival Orchestra, a member of the Albany Symphony, and can be seen frequently on stage with A Far Cry, The Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra, Boston Baroque, Boston Lyric Opera, and Boston Ballet. She began her work in communications and marketing while a student at Boston University, and has since worked in communications, publications, and graphic design for the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Tufts University Music Department, A Far Cry, and the Boston Festival Orchestra. She is a freelance graphic designer specializing in print marketing materials and concert programs and works with clients to help communicate their artistic mission through design. Originally from Annapolis, MD, Anna is the proud product of her public school music program. She now lives in the great neighborhood of Lower Allston with her bassoonist husband and gets excited about fonts, road trips, and diners.
