"Let the sword of the enemy rest" is the line that most stuck out to me when reading the translation. I began thinking of different situations in which someone would be surrendering. After listening to the recording, I felt transported to a dark, eerie forest. I switched from the view of the enemy to the view of those looking to escape and find refuge. These two girls continue to support each other through every step of their long, terrifying journey. Looking for refuge, they have no idea what could lurk behind any tree, rock, or corner, but they don't stick around to find out.
