The Dinner Guests

I will invite the stars to my table,
I will invite the moon as well
That way I need not talk
For they will speak to me of You.

No need to set the table
No plates, no forks, no knives,
For what we eat shall be provided
By air and by clouds and the rustling wind.

Humility was served first as the appetizer dish
With Knowledge and Empathy
As the dressing and the sauce.
Liquid Love was next piping hot and so fragrant;
A sweet and sour mixture
Hypnotically swirling.

But the main course was Wisdom
Served cold to me and unadorned.

And there was no dessert and no coffee,
For my guests are busy beings.
Calling forth Light and rexplaining Truth
They soon departed to their quiet order
Leaving me their gift of Silence,
That silence of Faith,
That speaks to me of You.
