Errollyn Wallen (b. 1958)

"Let the music be heard" was composed as a companion piece to Bach cantata BWV 137, Lobe den Herren" as a prelude. The text is drawn from the final line of the first movement of the cantata "Lasset die Musicam hören," which originates with the chorale by Joachim Neander set by Bach. "Let the music be heard" was premiered at Emmanuel Church on May 5th, 2024, and will be presented by the ensemble during their appearance in Leipzig Germany as part of Bachfest Leipzig in June 2024.
