Edvard Grieg (1843-1907)
We welcome our friend, Terje Kvam, music director at the Oslo Cathedral. He will be conducting two settings of his countryman Edvard Grieg. These pieces, performed as our motet and during communion, are among the last work of this great nineteenth century composer. They show not only a thorough understanding of Germanic motet style but also the composer's life-long identification with Scandinavian folk music.
