MASS IN B MINOR, BWV 232
Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 8:00 pm
The Orchestra and Chorus of Emmanuel Music, John Harbison, conductor
7:00 pm: Pre-concert talk by Christoph Wolff
Soloists: Gail Abbey, Kendra Colton, Susan Consoli, Jayne West, Pamela Dellal, Miranda Loud, Susan Trout, Frank Kelley, Jason McStoots, David Kravitz, Donald Wilkinson

Bach’s B minor Mass sums up his entire career as a composer. It encompasses music written over almost forty years, and includes, in the Symbolum Nicenum (Credo) the thoughts of his very last days. Its range is vast; it is archaic and modern, inward and spectacular. It is a last testament by a composer whose final word will never be spoken.

A pre-concert talk by noted Bach scholar Christoph Wolff, Adams University professor, Harvard University, will be given at 7:00 pm in the Parish Hall.
